The rod is smooth and buttery like most fiberglass rods but, has enough crispness to react when needed. This line weight helps the rod bend and react flawlessly feels awesome!, The was set up for small stream fishing but, never had chance to be used. More than will ever be needed on a small trout stream!, And it is, of course, loaded with the exceptionally classic Cortland 444 Peach - Double Taper 4 weight. The red blanks have since been discontinued.
